Brief info
Tom graduated with a first class Masters of Performance degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2020, where he also achieved his Bachelors of Music. During this time, he received tuition from Anne McAneney (LPO), Paul Beniston (LPO), Phil Cobb (BBC Phil) and Stephen Keavy (English Baroque Soloists). A skilled arranger with a keen eye for detail, Tom was employed by professor Eric Crees as a digital scribe during his studies.
In 2019, Tom undertook an Erasmus semester at the Hochschule für Musik, Trossingen, where he studied with Wolfgang Guggenberger, Stefan Ruf (HfMDK Frankfurt) and Abbie Conant. As the school is host of the German federal program MUSIK-DESIGN-PERFORMANCE, here he developed his skills in digital signal processing and live electronics.
In 2023, Tom joined the inaugural class of the Cini Foundation’s Exploratory for free improvisation and contemporary music in Venice. Here, he was proud to work with Joëlle Léandre (Ensemble Intercontemporaine), Abbie Conant, Dr Camila Hoitenga, Nicholas Isherwood and Daan Vanderwalle.
